Overwhelming Emotions
When you become anxious or overwhelmed with any emotion, sit down and let yourself know that this feeling is not going to harm you even though it feels very uncomfortable.
With this feeling there can be many other feelings that come such as frustration, irritation, or even anger.
Know this is okay.
Take a towel and begin to ring this out with all of your strength. Hold this until your arms and hands are completely tired. This assists in releasing this built up emotion.
Now sit back and slow your breathing down. Become aware of your breath, just feeling the breath come in and out. Do this for 5-10 minutes.
During each exhale tell yourself: “I am okay, I am safe.”
